Portrait of 3 Children - painted from seperate photos

This portrait was a special Christmas gift from a sister to her two siblings and their mother and father. The photographs were lost but not forgotten. There were very few pictures of the children when they were small and they often reminisced of the time the original pictures were made. When we received the photos in the mail they were in poor condition. The colors were faded and the paper was stained and stuck to the glass. The glass was even broken on one of the pictures. The resulting portrait exceeded her expectations. When she presented each family member her special gift at their Christmas party, they all started crying. They look back and laugh at a room full of adults crying and laughing at the same time. What was once a fading memory almost lost had become a treasure with a double meaning: three little sisters growing up together and forever best friends; and a special Christmas when each family member received the gift of a lifetime that says "I love you" everyday.
